A-Level artist research
When students are asked to research an artist, they tend to search for a name or key word in Google and just see what comes up... often resulting in a quick look at Wikipedia which is the least reliable website out there! I have put the following list together for you - click the picture for the one you think is most relevant and it'll take you straight to the website.
Tate Website
Artist and art work search. You can narrow your search by year, style, materials and themes. National Portrait Gallery
Portrait search - paintings, prints and photographs of people. Lens Culture
Contemporary photographers. Great for finding out what photographers are doing now and for finding potential ideas for your work. You can search by key word in the box at the top. ArtNet
Search for specific artists in the main search box on this page - each artist will bring up a range of their work plus a biography about them and their work. You can also use the top search box to search for key words that link to your work to find other artist influences. |

Excellent for contemporary (modern) artists and photographers, organised by concept. You can also select the type of art you are looking for at the top of the page eg. paintings or photographs. Art Textiles
